BJC | Extensive underground work will require Ameren to close sections of Clayton Avenue west of Euclid Avenue on the Washington University Medical Campus, starting April 8.
The garage entrance/exit will be accessible at all times, and the sidewalk on the south side of Clayton Avenue will remain open. Ameren has installed message boards along Clayton Avenue east of Euclid Avenue and in Forest Park, alerting drivers of the upcoming closure, and will post detour signs prior to the closure.
To avoid adding congestion to patient/visitor traffic on Barnes-Jewish Plaza, plan extra time in your commute. The Tower Grove/Boyle Avenue ramps, one exit east of Kingshighway, are a convenient alternative.
Ameren work on Kingshighway
Starting in mid-April, Ameren will close the parking lane along southbound Kingshighway between Children’s Place and Barnes-Jewish Plaza for as long as two months. The underground work will take place between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. nightly.
Ameren is building a power substation on the far southeast end of Hudlin Park to replace the decades-old substation supporting the south end of the medical campus. The project will continue through the end of 2019.
BJC planning, design and construction and BJH facilities team members are working closely with Ameren to ensure coordination and timely communications. Contact Christopher Dean, BJC planning, design and construction, 314-575-1691 or email@example.com, if you have questions.
