BJC | With the majority of BJC and Washington University School of Medicine organizations live on the new electronic health record system, Epic, the Epic1.org website has been redesigned to focus on key areas for supporting providers and staff.
Previously designed as a go-to location for Epic implementation information, Epic1.org now focuses on providing timely and relevant updates and resources for employees using Epic as part of their daily workflow.
Where can I see changes to Epic that affect me?
From the main navigation, employees can view recent changes to production that impact their views or workflows via the Epic Change Portal. In addition, employees can also find recent system news and updates under Program News and Updates.
I’m a manager. How do I sign up new employees for Epic training?
Under the Training section, managers and new employees can access: the Epic Validation Portal, used for assigning Epic job roles; a quick link to access Epic training though BJC’s learning management system, Saba; detailed training FAQs; and Epic new employee orientation information and materials.
I’m a provider. Is this site useful for me?
Providers can quickly navigate to relevant updates, training information and changes to the Epic environment using the provider-specific section of the site.
How do I know when Epic will be down and unavailable for use?
In addition to updates, changes and training, information related to Epic downtime is available on the website. Scheduled downtimes will occur during the regularly scheduled IT maintenance windows (from 12:30-3:30 a.m., the third Sunday of the month). Details of how downtime updates and reminders will be shared with employees, as well as downtime preparedness documents, are available in the downtime section of the website. (Note: Detailed instructions are shared locally.)
Where can I find the number to call if I need help?
Providers and staff can quickly find service desk contacts for both BJC and WUSM on the Home page, as well as the downtime page.
How can I stay updated with ongoing work on Epic?
Future Epic project information is also available to keep providers and staff informed of ongoing work, such as the 2018 upgrade, the Epic implementation at BJC Medical Group of Illinois, system enhancements and more.
Keep up to date and Epic-ready with Epic1.org.
