BJC | The March of Dimes recently honored nurses who exemplify an extraordinary level of patient care, compassion and customer service at its seventh annual Nurse of the Year celebration.
Whether serving as health care providers, educators, researchers, chapter volunteers and/or advisors — nurses play a critical role in advancing the mission of the March of Dimes: to improve the health of all babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality.
The March of Dimes Nurse of the Year initiative supports this mission, while recognizing exceptional nurses throughout the state and celebrating the profession. Exceptional nurses employed in Missouri and the Illinois counties of Jersey, Madison, St. Clair, Clinton, Monroe and Randolph were eligible.

As part of celebrating the March of Dimes’ 80th anniversary, eight “Champions of Nursing” also were named. Champions of Nursing from BJC included:
The champions were honored for giving back to others through their work, based on their life experiences and passion for helping to fight for the health of all moms and babies.
